Rabbit, Rabbit! A tradition my family adopted. If you are the first to say rabbit, rabbit on the first of a month you supposedly receive the luck for the month. I woke up to a “rabbit, rabbit” family group text. :)While it wasn’t me who received the luck, it was an exciting reminder…that it’s AUGUST! And we are waiting for our baby!
We’re officially in the month of my due date. August 23rd. I will be 37 weeks tomorrow, so as we speak I am sipping on my raspberry leaf tea. Maybe this afternoon I will eat some fresh pineapple. And this evening maybe I’ll go on a walk… followed by another cup of tea. And in between all of that I’ll probably do some more organizing and cleaning… but not nesting though. 🙂
Can you tell that I’m eager?! I am. I am so excited for this little boy the Lord has blessed us with. We are so ready to receive him into our family. Oh how joyous it will be to look into his eyes, touch his hair (the midwife says he has some!), count his fingers and toes, pray over him, and start the lifelong journey of getting to know this little personality God has already formed!
We are so blessed that the Lord saw fit to give us such a precious gift! We do not take it lightly! I’d say we’re pretty lucky! 😉 Please pray for us as we prepare for our little one! Here’s what I’m meditating on today as we are waiting for our baby:
Unless the Lord builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the Lord guards the city,
The watchman keeps awake in vain.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early,
To retire late,
To eat the bread of painful labors;
For He gives to His beloved even in his sleep.
3 Behold, children are a gift of the Lord,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior,
So are the children of one’s youth.
5 How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them;
They will not be ashamed
When they speak with their enemies in the gate.
