Let’s do it! Let’s unravel identity.
Unravel identity in YOUR life.
I believe there are 3 aspects to consider when it comes to identity. They’re all so important as a foundation before you are able to really discover all that God has created you to be.
So, what do you say? Do you want to discover your Kingdom Identity and Kingdom Purpose?
Let’s start here.
1. What God’s Word Says about You
Do you know what God’s word says about you? If you know Jesus, you are a child of God! And what does that mean? Do you know that you have an inheritance with Christ? An inheritance from the Holy One- the Maker of Heaven and Earth? Amazing! Do you know that you are simultaneously fully known and fully loved? And do you know the implications of that?! Do you know that you are a new creation?
I could go on and on about what God’s word says about who we are. But the point is this: God’s word is jam packed with truth about our identity in Him, and this piece is the foundation of who we are.
2. How God Created You
Our identity outlined in scripture is crucial, but of course those truths apply to all believers. The next part of your identity is more specific to who you are. We have such a creative God, and He designed us all so uniquely. God has wired us all differently, and for great purposes. This is the part of identity that may take some time to discover. Sometimes it takes time to rediscover.
So what about you? Who are you? What do you like to do? Are there things deep inside of you that you are fired up about? What are your strengths? Weaknesses? What makes you different from your brothers and sisters? What about you do your family and friends love?
3. What God Wants to do in You
I’m looking forward to getting to know those things about all of you. But this next part? Oh man. The third part of identity gets me really excited. It’s the “more” in your life. It’s that deeper thing that God is doing in you.
I believe God is calling us all to something more. Sometimes it is stepping into a new role. Other times it is stepping into that part of ourselves that we are afraid to walk in. So let me ask you this:
What is the “more” in your life? Is God doing something deeper in your life? Has he given you a vision for your identity and purpose? How does this help you unravel identity in your life?
